What does my KDA address mean?
Take MQHD-##### as an example. MQ is the Banaadir / Muqdisho geographic prefix, HD is the Hodan district code, and ##### is the unique 5-digit KDA location number. Example geography: Hodan, Muqdisho, Banaadir.

How do I get a KDA address?
During Phase Zero, KDA addresses are registered by Karaar's field teams, not by residents or businesses themselves.
Locate — the field team marks the exact entrance at the property.
Verify — an authorised KDA field verifier confirms eligible physical addresses on site.
Receive — your KDA address is issued according to the approved address structure and appears in My KDA when it is linked to your account.

Why is the address captured at the entrance or front door?
Because the entrance is the point people, deliveries and services actually need to reach. A pin placed in the centre of a property may not identify the usable entrance, especially for large properties, compounds and multi-unit buildings.

How do I report an incorrect address or location?
A "Report an address issue" workflow is being prepared for wrong entrance, wrong map position, incorrect geography, duplicate address, incorrect unit and other cases. Until it is live, corrections are made by KDA's verification team: if the address is yours, sign in to My KDA to see what is recorded, and raise the issue with the authorised KDA field verifier who confirmed the place.

Can I search for a residential KDA address?
Residential KDA addresses are private by default and are not publicly searchable. A residential address can be accessed by the resident or shared through the appropriate KDA sharing process. Public search does not disclose or confirm a private residential location.

How do I share my KDA address?
Residential addresses stay private by default. The resident chooses when and with whom to share the address. Sharing a residential address does not make it publicly discoverable. Eligible public business, institution and public-place locations may be discoverable through KDA public services.

The resident controls ordinary sharing of the address. Access may also occur where specifically authorised or otherwise lawfully required under the applicable privacy framework.

Can shippers, couriers or other systems use KDA addresses?
Yes. A KDA address can be presented as a complete address for delivery and shipping, with the recipient, unit, district, city, region, Karaar Routing Code and country. Acceptance or automatic recognition of the KDA code within an individual courier, postal or marketplace system depends on that operator's systems and available KDA integration.
